Sales Consultant

The Sales Consultant qualifies leads and solicits orders for products or services over the telephone by performing the following duties. Responsible for all sales activities, from lead generation through close in an assigned territory. Develops and implements agreed upon Marketing Plan which will meet both personal and business goals of expanding customer base in the marketing area. Works within the sales and support teams for the achievement of customer satisfaction, revenue generation, and long-term account goals in line with company vision and values.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
• Helps develop established script to use when calling prospects.
• Calls prospective customers in designated market area to qualify leads and explain type of service or product offered (Goal of 80 dials per day/180 minutes of talk time daily).
• Informs current and prospective customers of current promotions and new or upgraded products.
• Quotes prices and encourages customers to buy.
• Understanding of basic sales cycle and how to move customers through quickly.
• Secures and places orders with others for filling and arranges delivery date.
• Enters names, addresses, purchases, and reactions of prospects solicited into computer database system accurately.
• Follows up with customers to assure satisfaction, respond to queries, solicit further sales, and solve or refer problems.
• Upselling on courses and/or equipment to first-time purchasers and/or
• Develops lists of prospects from city and telephone directories, trade and professional association membership lists, and other public records.
• Prepares report on sales activities.
• May travel as requested by Sales Manager to Seminars and/or Tradeshows
• Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Education/Experience:
• Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university preferred.
• Two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
