Dr. Michael D. Silverman, is an internationally-recognized dental educator, business leader, marketing expert, entrepreneur, speaker, and author. Always at the forefront of innovation, Dr. Silverman and b2d have helped launch and maintain the success of numerous premier dental and medical products and services on the market today. Gary Hall Jr.

Gary represented the United States in international swimming competition for 16 years, competing in three Olympics and earning 10 Olympic medals. This experience built a global network of media, corporate, and political contacts that came to his support when he was diagnosed with type 1, or insulin dependent, diabetes. Gary has served as a diabetes advocate and consultant to some of the largest companies in the diabetes industry, including J&J’s Lifescan division, Novo Nordisk, BD Medical, and Eli Lilly and Co. among others. He has testified in front of Congress on current healthcare issues, campaigned for diabetes awareness, headed patient outreach programming, education initiatives, and fundraising efforts for important diabetes research. With all his multinational experiences, Gary carries the unique ability to navigate the waters of cultural diversity.
Gary Hall, Jr. testified at the Senate Indian Affairs Committee Hearing entitled: A Way Out of the Diabetes Crisis in Indian Country and Beyond. This hearing was chaired by Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) and Vice Chairman Senator John Barrasso (R-WY). Bipartisan leaders in Congress have introduced legislation (H.R. 3668, S. 3058) to renew the Special Diabetes Program which represents 35% of the federal support for type 1 diabetes research. The SDP provides mandatory funding for diabetes research, treatment and prevention efforts. There are currently 60 cosponsors of this legislation and Gary was one of five to testify calling for the reauthorization of this critical program at an amount of $200 million per year for the next five years.
